With an estimated population of over 31 million, Delhi is one of the oldest cities in the world, having been continuously inhabited since the 6 th century BC and houses New Delhi, the official capital of the country of India. Tokyo is rich in architecture, with numerous skyscrapers and the city is interspersed with a well-developed road network. The city has survived earthquakes and even bombing raids by the Allied forces during World War II, only to become the largest urban economy in the world by gross domestic product. Originally named as “Edo” about its original location at the meeting point of Sumida River and Tokyo River, the name was later changed to “Tokyo”. With a population of more than 37.339 million, Tokyo is the largest city in the world as of 2021. ![]() In the following article, we will look at 15 of the largest cities in the world.
